6. How do I pack my parcel correctly?

Before you send your parcel, there are two important things to consider that are crucial for successful shipping:

The right packaging

The most common reason for returns or delays in shipping is incorrectly packed or inadequately protected cardboard packaging. In addition, there is an increased risk of the shippment suffering damage during transport. To avoid this as far as possible, please note the following points:

  • Choose a cartonage that offers sufficient space for your items. It should be sturdy enough so that it does not bulge when being carried.
  • Fill any free space in the cardboard box with materials such as bubble wrap or corrugated paper to secure the contents and protect them from external pressure.
  • If you are sending several items, you should ideally place them in such a way that they do not touch each other to avoid unnecessary scratches or other damage.
  • Seal the parcel with sufficient adhesive tape so that it cannot come loose during transport.

The right parcel dimensions

When shipping parcels, shipping service providers use the girth measurement to calculate the maximum dimensions. The maximum strap size is often 300 cm, but can vary depending on the shipping service provider. Therefore, please find out about the permitted dimensions from the respective shipping service provider you wish to ship with.

The belt size is calculated as follows: (height + width) x 2 + length of the parcel in cm. For example, a cuboid parcel measuring 60 x 60 x 60 cm has a belt dimension of 300 cm. The girth of an elongated parcel measuring 120 x 60 x 30 cm is also 300 cm.

Note: If your parcel exceeds the maximum girth measurement, you can only send it as bulky goods or on a pallet.

Transport insurance

Even if consignments are normally delivered to the recipient undamaged, transport damage cannot be avoided in some cases. In addition, there is always the risk of shippments being lost or stolen. JUMiNGO offers you the option of booking standard or premium insurance for your shippment so that you can protect yourself against the financial risks of transport damage, loss or theft.

7. Is there a tracking service?

Regardless of whether you ship nationwide or worldwide, you can track your shipment at any time with JUMiNGO's free shipment tracking. With shipment tracking, you receive information on the current status of your shipment as well as other important data, such as an estimated time of delivery to the recipient.

Note: Regardless of which shipping service provider you choose, you will always receive a tracking number after successful booking. If you book a DHL Express rate, for example, you will receive a tracking number that is only valid for DHL shipment tracking, i.e. you cannot check the status of your shipment using UPS tracking or GLS shipment tracking, for example.
