For national and international shipments, the legal liability applies by default in the event of damage. The legal liability depends on the selected shipping rate. You can find the details in the shipping cost calculator under the respective rate information. Depending on the rate, liability may be a fixed amount (up to €510), or in some cases weight-based (e.g., €10 per kilogram).

If the value of your shipment exceeds the legal liability of the selected rate, the full value cannot be reimbursed in the event of damage.

To minimize potential risks, it may therefore be advisable to take out additional transport insurance, which covers financial losses resulting from loss, theft, and transport damage. Insurance can be booked for most shipping rates at JUMiNGO.

JUMiNGO offers transport insurance for most of the national and international shipping rates available:

  • For shipments from and to Germany, we offer insurance provided by the insurer KRAVAG. Shipment values of up to €50,000 can be insured.
  • For shipments from and to France, insurance is offered in cooperation with our partner Coste Fermon. Shipment values of up to €10,000 can be insured.

You can choose between Standard and Premium coverage:

  • Standard insurance: Shipment value insured at 100%, €50 service fee/deductible, regular support
  • Premium insurance: Shipment value insured at 100%, no service fee/deductible, priority support

Important note: Please refer to the respective insurance terms and conditions, which can be accessed here, for details on exclusions and all other conditions.

  • During the order process: You can add transport insurance on the “Additional Information” page. Simply choose between Standard and Premium insurance and enter the required details (shipment content and insured value).
  • Shipment drafts: You can add insurance to drafts by selecting “Add info/service” on the draft.
  • Shipment templates: You can also set up insurance by default for shipment templates. To do so, select an insurance option in step 4 (“Additional Information”).

The insurance premium is calculated based on the insured value and will be added to the total price of your shipment.

If the shipment has not yet been dispatched, it is possible to book transport insurance subsequently. Please create a support ticket with the following information:

  • Order number
  • Shipment content
  • Insurance value

Please hold your shipment until your request has been processed. Our support team will contact you as soon as possible.

  • If you are interested in additional transport insurance, please note the insurance conditions.
  • Booking additional transport insurance is excluded for GLS and JUMiNGO SAME DAY rates.
