You do not need any documents for shipments to the EU. Within the EU, the movement of goods is generally duty-free.

However, depending on the type of goods, special requirements may apply to the shipping process. Restrictions apply to the shipment of pharmaceuticals, fireworks, cultural goods as well as weapons and ammunition. Customs authorities are authorized to inspect the contents of a shipment. Furthermore, the respective regulations regarding excise duties apply in the individual EU member states.

Please note

It is always recommended to check the relevant import regulations in advance before shipping to other European countries.

Whether you need to provide customs with additional information about your shipment depends on the destination and the value or weight of your shipment.

This additional information must either be provided in the form of a commercial invoice or you will also need a so-called Export Accompanying Document (EAD / ABD in German). Three copies of these customs documents must be attached to the outside of each package in such a way that they are accessible.

Commercial invoice

A commercial invoice must be issued as soon as the shipment does not contain a gift, samples or goods not intended for resale. If a shipment has a commercial background, a commercial invoice must be issued and attached. The required information is essentially the same as for a standardized invoice.

Export accompanying document

An export accompanying document (EAD / ABD) is required for shipments with a total value of goods (including shipping & insurance) of EUR 1,000.00 or more (or a total shipment weight of 1,000 kg or more). The document must be attached to the outside of the shipment so that it is clearly visible. You can use a transparent foil pouch for this purpose. You can order an EAD via JUMiNGO for 59.95 EUR.

Total value of goods up to 1,000 EUR / 1,000 kg

For shipments with a total value of goods (including shipping and insurance) of less than 1,000 EUR / a weight up to 1,000 kg, it is sufficient to attach the relevant commercial invoice clearly visible on the outside of the shipment.

Total value of goods from 1,000 EUR / 1,000 kg or more

For shipments with a total value of goods (including shipping & insurance) of 1,000 EUR or more (or 1,000 kg or more total shipment weight), you must attach both the relevant commercial invoice and the export accompanying document (EAD / ABD) clearly visible on the outside of your shipmen

For shipments outside the EU, you will always need an invoice document for customs clearance. Depending on the type of goods, either a proforma or commercial invoice must be created.

Pro forma invoice

A proforma invoice applies to shipments of goods with no commercial value and must accompany shipments of gifts or samples and goods not intended for resale.

JUMiNGO will provide you with a proforma invoice free of charge. This will list the contents of the shipment. Please attach three copies of the invoice to your parcel.

Commercial Invoice

A commercial invoice must be issued as soon as the shipment does not contain a gift, samples/specimens or goods not intended for resale. If a shipment has a commercial background, a commercial invoice must be issued and attached. The required information is essentially the same as for a standardized invoice.

The commercial invoice must be created independently, JUMiNGO does not offer to create it automatically.
